Phoenix Support Initiative
Who we are
Phoenix Support Initiative is a community-based organisation dedicated to empowering teenage mothers, adolescents, and youth in Kenya. We focus on reintegration, mentorship, skills training, and psychosocial support to ensure young mothers rebuild their confidence, return to school, and rise to their full potential.
Why we exist
Across communities, teenage mothers and persons with disabilities often face stigma, isolation, and barriers to education, healthcare, and opportunity. Phoenix Support Initiative walks with them—restoring dignity, renewing hope, and creating pathways to independence.

Our Journey
The Beginning
Phoenix Support Initiative (Phoenix) was founded with a mission to support teenage mothers through rescue, rehabilitation, and reintegration. The foundation was built on hope, restoration, and “arising from the ashes.”
Outreach and Community Connection
Started community outreach to Busia Home for Babies, an institution hosting children born to teenage mothers.
Provided donations, food items, and emotional support.
Began engagement with schools in the region on SRH and teenage pregnancy awareness.
Expanding Support to Marginalized Groups
Strengthened partnerships, especially with St. Angela School for the Deaf, offering SRH talks, guidance and counselling, pad drives, and GBV awareness sessions.
The school noted improved openness among students and a significant decrease in teenage pregnancy cases.
Expanded compassion work to Precious Virginia Home for children with severe cerebral palsy — sharing love, essential supplies, and emotional warmth.
Conducted sessions at Mukuru kwa Ruben with teenage mothers navigating life in informal settlements — offering SRH information, counselling, and donations
Deepening Community Roots
Continued annual visits and pad drives at St. Angela School for the Deaf.
Second major outreach to Busia Home for Babies with food donations and care items.
Joined community partners to clothe students in rural areas, providing school uniforms, sanitary towels, and boxers, reducing shame and absenteeism while spreading SRH knowledge.
Expanding to PWD SRH Inclusion
After research, Phoenix expanded its mandate to include SRH accessibility and empowerment for persons with disabilities, including PWD teenage mothers.
Launched community surveys to gather lived experiences and inform program design for sustainable, inclusive impact.
